DENVER – Since no one hit the Lotto jackpot in Saturday’s drawing, the jackpot for Wednesday’s jackpot  is now $10.1 million. The last time the Lotto jackpot was over $10 million was in October 2008. The cash value of the $10.1 million jackpot is just over $5 million.

The Lotto jackpot hasn’t been hit since Feb. 27, 2010, when a Denver resident won a $6.7 million jackpot. The largest jackpot of 2009 was $5.9 million, and the largest Lotto jackpot on record is a $27 million jackpot won in march 1992.

Lotto drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at approximately 7:35 p.m.  The probability of winning the jackpot is one in 5,245,786.  The most frequently drawn number in Lotto history is 34. Ranking second is the number 10. The least frequently drawn number is 6. The winning numbers are selected using an automated drawing machine, which randomly generates the winning numbers.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Powerball, Cash 5, Scratch, MatchPlay and Mega Millions stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.2 billion to the state of Colorado since it was established. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
