Delta County Resident Wins Top Prize in Lottery's Scratch Game

DENVER - This week Angelo Armendariz of Delta, Colo., won $27,777 in the Colorado Lottery’s Scratch game $2 7 Series. City Market in Delta sold the winning ticket.

In Delta County, more than $10 million in Lottery proceeds have helped to improve community areas, riparian parks and recreation facilities such as the Delta County Fairgrounds Multi-Purpose Recreational Facility.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games - Scratch, Lotto, Powerball, and Cash 5 - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. In fiscal year 2005, more than $103.7 million was returned to Colorado. Since the lottery started in 1983, more than $1.6 billion has been returned to the state.
