Lake Pueblo, the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center (NWDC), and the Colorado Lottery would like to invite you to participate in First Day Hikes on January 1, 2023. First Day Hikes is a nationwide initiative led by American State Parks to encourage people to get outdoors. Last year nearly 55,000 people rang in the New Year by collectively hiking over 133,000 miles throughout the country.

On New Year's Day 2023, Lake Pueblo, NWDC, and the Colorado Lottery will be hosting a free 6-mile round trip, self-guided hike along the Arkansas River Trail between Anticline Pond and the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center. Participants will be treated to refreshments, prizes, and an optional scavenger hunt. There will be several interactive stations along the trail at which participants can collect entries for a chance to win prizes. The Lottery will be at the Anticline Pond parking lot offering games and prizes so stop by and see us.

The self-guided event is 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, drop in as you please. There is little elevation change along the trail and the hike is considered beginner-moderate. Participants may start/end at either end and completing the hike is not required to be eligible for prizes.

Register here and you will receive an additional entry for prizes upon check-in.
