It was a day of firsts this week. First Top Prize, and the first ticket in a new pack!
Steven W. from Fort Collins walked into the Lottery’s Fort Collins claims office a little stunned and a lot skeptical. He walked out a brand-new millionaire, with the crowd at the adjacent Department of Motor Vehicles office cheering him on with applause.
Steven purchased the first $3 million Top Prize on the Lottery’s new $50 Scratch game, Bankroll Blast, the day after the game was released. There are still two $3 million instant Top Prizes left in the game.
On Tuesday, Steven stopped in at Schrader's Country Store on College Avenue at Harmony Road and bought one ticket, which just happened to be the very first ticket in the pack. As he scratched off the coating on the ticket, uncovering the $3 million prize, disbelief washed over him.
Steven said he will start planning for early retirement from his bottle manufacturing job and may not go back to work through the holiday season.
After taxes, Steven’s net prize is $2,130,000.
