Colorado Lottery Celebrates $4 Billion in Proceeds for its 40th Birthday!

The Colorado Lottery hit $4 billion in proceeds on the 40th birthday!

Since 1983, at no cost to taxpayers, the Lottery started selling its first game. In 1992, Coloradans voted to create Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to invest in the future of Colorado’s outdoors. Last year GOCO gave $73.1 million to outdoor projects and education. The Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) distributed $72.1 million to all 64 counties in the state based on population.  Colorado Parks and Wildlife's (CPW) $24.3 million supported wildlife, parks, and outdoor equity. Building Excellent Schools Today's (BEST) $9.3 million goes to school infrastructure projects.

Lottery dollars are everywhere people play in Colorado. Our two new state parks are a great example of how Lottery dollars support parks, Fishers Peak and Sweet Water Lake state park.

We are looking forward to 40 more years of supporting this incredible state through our three pillars: Revenue, Responsibility, and Conservation. Thanks for playing, Colorado.
