Celebrate the new year by hiking at a Colorado State Park. First Day Hikes offers a unique opportunity to enjoy self-guided hikes at participating locations. 

The Colorado Lottery is partnering with Lake Pueblo and the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center to observe First Day Hikes on January 1. We will be located at the Anticline Fishing Ponds parking lot, weather dependent, with games and prizes.

Participants can take the self-guided 6-mile round-trip hike along the Arkansas River Trail between the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center and Anticline Pond, starting and ending at either end. 

Six learning stations will be set up along the trail, offering ways to participate and win prizes.  The more stations visited, the more prizes available.
