Colorado Lottery Announces Deadline Date for Millionaire Raffle

DENVER, November 10th, 2010 – The Colorado Lottery has announced January 1st, 2011 as the final prize drawing date for the Millionaire Raffle game. The game offers two top prizes of $1 million and only 280,000 tickets will be sold for the best chance to win $1 million, ever. The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 140,000. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 550.

In addition to the two $1 million prizes, three $100,000 prizes, four $10,000 prizes and 500 $1,000 prizes will be awarded. Key Millionaire Raffle Dates and Information:

  • Raffle drawing will be held on the morning of 1/1/2011.
  • Last day of Raffle sales is 12/31/10 (unless all 280,000 tickets are sold prior to this date).
  • Winning numbers will be posted on the Colorado Lottery’s website (www.coloradolottery.com) and be available at all Lottery retailers.
  • To date, there are 186,627 tickets remaining.

The price for a Raffle ticket is $20, and each Millionaire Raffle ticket contains a unique six-digit number. The raffle tickets are sold in sequential numbers and players are not able to select their own numbers. The ticket is currently available at all retailers where Powerball is sold. Customers simply need to ask the clerk to print a Millionaire Raffle ticket. To determine winners, the drawing will be held on 1/1/2011 to select the winning numbers for the different prize amounts.

“Millionaire Raffle is played like a typical raffle-type draw game that many people have already experienced. It will have only 280,000 tickets available and over 500 prizes will be awarded ranging from $1,000 to $1 million” stated Lottery Director Abel J. Tapia. Tapia went on to add, “Once people buy their ticket, they will need to keep it in a safe place because tickets cannot be reissued. We also encourage players to sign the back of their ticket as soon as they purchase it to ensure it can’t be cashed by someone else in the event it is a winning ticket.”

Proceeds from the Lottery’s games – MatchPlay, Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash 5, Scratch, Lotto and now Millionaire Raffle - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.2 billion to the state of Colorado since its founding in 1983. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
