POWERBALL JACKPOT GROWS TO A MASSIVE $320 MILLION

POWERBALL JACKPOT GROWS TO A MASSIVE $320 MILLION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DENVER, March 21, 2013– Nobody hit last night’s Powerball jackpot, making Saturday night’s jackpot a whopping $320 million! The winning ticket will be worth an estimated $198.3 million in cash.

So far, this Powerball run has already created a $2 million winner in Colorado. An Aurora resident purchased the lucky ticket for last Saturday’s drawing at King Soopers at 8673 S. Quebec Street in Highlands Ranch. The winner purchased the Power Play option, which increased the $1 million prize for matching 5 of 5 numbers to $2 million!

This is the highest Powerball jackpot since the $579.9 million record-breaking jackpot last November.

Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:59 p.m. MST. Powerball is a multi-state game with a starting jackpot of $40 million and other prizes ranging from $4 to $2 million. To play, consumers choose five numbers from 1 to 59 and one Powerball number from 1 to 35. Players that match five numbers and the Powerball win the jackpot. Players can also opt to spend an extra $1 for a Power Play option, which turns a $1 million prize into a $2 million prize if they match five numbers without the Powerball. The Power Play option also increases the lower-tier prize amounts, for example a $4 prize for matching just the Powerball number becomes a $12 prize with the Power Play option.
