WINNING $2 MILLION POWERBALL TICKET SOLD IN BROOMFIELD

DENVER, May 21, 2012 – One lucky winner matched 5 of 5 numbers and purchased Power Play in Wednesday night’s (May 16) Powerball drawing, winning $2 million! The winning ticket was purchased at the King Soopers store located at 12167 Sheridan Blvd., in Broomfield. The store will receive $3,000 for selling the lucky ticket. The winning numbers are 3, 7, 21, 28, 43 and the Powerball is 2.

The Powerball game was recently enriched in January and the prize structure changed to create more millionaires. The second prize (5 out of 5 numbers without the Powerball), which once was a $200,000 prize is now a $1 million cash prize, and if players purchase the Power Play for an additional $1, they now win a $2 million cash prize.

The winner, who has not yet claimed the prize, has until November 16, 2012, to do so.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Powerball, Mega Millions, MatchPlay, Cash 5, and Scratch - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.3 billion to the state of Colorado since its creation in 1983. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
