The Town of Buena Vista used Lottery funds to construct the Buena Vista Square Optimist Splash Pad.

The splash pad was completed in July 2015 and utilized Lottery funds in the amount of $15,000 from the Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) and a $45,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO).

Centered in the heart of downtown Buena Vista, the splash pad is part of a push to create pocket parks throughout the town. The fun water feature is perfect since the town doesn't have any public swimming pools. It also gives the community a safe haven to play away from the dangerous currents of the Arkansas River. During the winter, the splash pad morphs into a community fire pit where people can gather, relax and communicate.
