Staunton State Park

Be One of the First to Explore the Park

Staunton State Park is the latest addition of Colorado's state park system making it the 42nd state park to offer Coloradans a retreat into wilderness. We want you to be one of the first to explore all that it has to offer.

The park is just north of U.S. Highway 285 approximately 6 miles west of Conifer. The 3,700-acre property is bisected by Park and Jefferson counties, approximately 45 miles southwest of downtown Denver. Elk Creek Road off of US 285 serves as the main entrance into the park.

An Interesting Journey
Staunton State Park has a rich history and the Colorado Parks and Wildife's website provides interesting reading about how the lands were donated and acquired to build Staunton. We encourage you to explore the state's newest park addition.

You Made It Happen
Your support of Colorado Lottery has resulted in $11.44 million dollars being contributed to making the park a reality. In turn, we encourage you to enjoy the lifestyle that you have created for yourself and others, and get out and play!
