COLORADO LOTTERY POSTS RECORD SALES WEEK

DENVER, Dec. 3, 2012 – The Colorado Lottery sold $22 million last week (Nov. 25 - Dec. 1), the highest sales week in Colorado Lottery history. An average sales week is approximately $10 million.

Scratch sales for the week ending Dec. 1 totaled $6,893,018 – up more than $400,000 from the previous week. Jackpot games sales (Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Raffle and Cash 5) were $15,193,577 – up $1,880,238 from the previous week.

Total sales in Colorado for the historic Powerball drawing were $12.63 million from Sunday, Nov. 25 through Wednesday, Nov. 28. Total Powerball sales in Colorado for Wednesday alone were $8.38 million. Average weekly Powerball sales in Colorado are approximately $1.5 million.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Mega Millions, Cash 5, Scratch, Lotto, Raffle and Powerball - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.4 billion to the state of Colorado since it was established. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
