John Caligaris Named Fiscal Controller for the Colorado Lottery.

The Colorado Lottery is pleased to announce that John Caligaris has accepted the position of Fiscal Controller for the Lottery effective November 1, 2010.  John joined the Lottery in April 1995 as the Accounts Receivable/System Development Supervisor and was appointed the Budget Officer in June of 1998.  He earned his CPA in 1992 while working for Grimsley, White and Company, CPA’s before joining the Lottery.  “John has made significant contributions to the development and growth of the Lottery over the past 15 years,” said Colorado Lottery Director Abel J. Tapia, “We are excited to have John as part of the management team and look forward to the ideas and leadership he brings to the organization “.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Powerball, Cash 5, Scratch, MatchPlay and Mega Millions stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.2 billion to the state of Colorado since it was established. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
