WEDNESDAY’S CASH 5 JACKPOT SPLIT 18 WAYS
DENVER – There were eighteen sets of numbers that hit the Colorado Lottery’s Cash 5 jackpot Wednesday. The players who chose those numbers will receive $11,111 for every line they played that matched the winning numbers. Normally, the Cash 5 jackpot is $20,000, but if more than 10 tickets hit the jackpot, the winners split $200,000 equally. One player already cashed four winning tickets Wednesday morning. Each ticket contained two sets of winning numbers, yielding an $88,888 prize.
The winning tickets were sold at: King Soopers, 8055 Sheridan Blvd., Arvada; Kwik Mart, 30520 Highway 72, Golden; and the Safeway Fuel Center, 3890 Wadsworth Ave., Arvada. The winning numbers for Wednesday’s Cash 5 drawing were: 4, 5, 6, 11 and 16.
The only other time that more than 10 tickets have hit the Cash 5 jackpot was in April 2005, when 21 winners received $9,523 each.
“Often when the numbers drawn are lower numbers, people who pick their lucky numbers using birthdays and anniversaries will win big,” said Tom Kitts. “This time, several people won big. We’re happy for all of the winners.”
Proceeds from the Lottery’s games – Cash 5, Powerball, MatchPlay, Scratch, and Lotto - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.2 billion to the state of Colorado since its founding in 1983. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
