Colorado Lottery Launches Indiana Jones Scratch Game
DENVER – The Colorado Lottery is unveiling a new Indian Jones Scratch game today, giving fans of the fictional archaeology professor the chance to do a little treasure hunting of their own. The $2 game gives players the chance to whip up as much as $20,000, enough to buy a legion of friends tickets to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which hits theaters May 22nd.
"Given the excitement surrounding the new Indiana Jones movie, we wouldn't be surprised to see these tickets become collector’s items," said the Lottery’s Acting Director Jack Boehm. "We’re always looking for fun new ways to generate excitement about our Scratch games."
Each of the tickets for the $2 game features a scene from one of the Indiana Jones movies: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark; Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom; Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. To win, players scratch off Indiana Jones symbols, hoping to match the numbers hidden behind those symbols will match one of the “winning numbers” buried underneath two whips. Hitting a skull symbol, will multiply the prize for that symbol by five times. The probability of winning any prize is 1 in 3.67.
Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Scratch, Lotto, Cash 5, and Powerball - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. Now celebrating its 25th year, the Lottery has returned more than $1.9 billion to the state of Colorado since its creation.
