Lottery to Offer Second-Chance Drawing at State Fair

DENVER – Save those non-winning Lottery tickets. They just might be winners after all. The Colorado Lottery is offering a second-chance drawing again at the Colorado State Fair, Aug. 24 - Sept. 3, 2007, in Pueblo.

This year, the Lottery will accept non-winning Lotto, Cash 5 and Powerball tickets with drawing dates between Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, and Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. In addition, Scratch tickets that were on sale between Sept. 1, 2006, and Sept. 3, 2007, will be eligible.

The list of eligible Scratch games is available on the Lottery’s Web site at www.coloradolottery.com.

During the upcoming months, the Lottery will announce specific drop-off locations, as well as the daily and grand prizes. Participants will still be able to drop off tickets during the Fair, similar to last year.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Scratch, Lotto, Powerball and Cash 5 – stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. Since the lottery started in 1983, more than $1.7 billion has been returned to the state through the Lottery’s primary proceeds recipients. These organizations provide grants and direct funding for parks, recreation, open space acquisition, trails, wildlife and conservation education.
