Jefferson County Resident Wins Top Prize in Lottery's Scratch Game

DENVER - Connie T. Trout of Arvada, Colo., won $27,777 in the Colorado Lottery’s Scratch game $2 Wild 7s. Red & Jerry’s, 1840 W. Oxford in Denver, sold the winning ticket.

In Jefferson County, nearly $130 million in Lottery proceeds have helped to improve community facilities, local parks and nature trails such as the Clear Creek Corridor, Lookout Mountain Nature Center Environmental Education Exhibits, Daniel L. Schaefer Athletic Complex and the visitor center at Lakewood Heritage Center.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games - Scratch, Lotto, Powerball, and Cash 5 - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. In fiscal year 2005, more than $103.7 million was returned to Colorado. Since the lottery started in 1983, more than $1.6 billion has been returned to the state.
