Powerball is the Colorado Lottery's exciting, multi-state jackpot game.  Players select 5 numbers from a field of 59 plus 1 additional number, the Powerball number, from a field of 39. Powerball has a rolling jackpot that starts at $20 million dollars and grows larger if the jackpot is not won. The jackpot starts higher and grows faster than our in-state Lotto game because Powerball is played in 30 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Unlike Lotto, Powerball has a bonus feature called Power Play.  For an additional $1, players can purchase the Power Play option for an opportunity to multiply their winnings by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times (jackpot excluded).

Drawings are at 8:59 pm Wednesdays and Saturdays - so make sure you buy your tickets for each Powerball drawing by 7:30 pm on the day of the drawing.

Effective July 1, 2009, FOX 31, KDVR-TV in Denver, will air the Powerball drawing at 9:28 pm. This is a change from the previous broadcast time of 8:59 pm. Grand Junction and Colorado Springs / Pueblo will continue broadcasting results live at 8:59 pm.
