Who Sells Lottery Tickets?

The Colorado Lottery partners with approximately 2,800 retailers around the state to sell Lottery products, and to raise millions of dollars toward the preservation of the environment and overall enhancement of our communities. These partners include, but are not limited to, convenience stores, grocery stores, liquor stores, restaurants and bars.

In calendar year 2006, retailers earned $33.46 million, bringing the total commissions and bonuses earned since the Lottery began in 1983 to more than $458.1 million. These commissions and bonuses help stimulate economies in local communities around the state, and benefit local businesses.

In addition to selling Scratch, Lotto, Cash 5 and Powerball tickets, retailers redeem prizes, provide winning numbers, display point-of-sale materials, and are a vital link in informing customers about Lottery games, promotions and events.

The Colorado Lottery, in partnership with its retail network, strives to meet the needs of a changing and diverse community. In 1996, the Lottery implemented the Americans with Disabilities Act standards at its retail outlets, ensuring access to Lottery products by the disabled community.

The Lottery is proud of its partnership with retailers around the state, and the money that, together, we have generated for Colorado's parks, recreation, open space and environmental projects.
