DENVER, August 29, 2013– Hon. Charles Dennis Maes of Pueblo, Colo., has been appointed to his first term of the Colorado Lottery Commission. Maes will serve as a commissioner until July 2017.

Maes served as the Chief District Judge of the Tenth Judicial District from September 1, 1995 to May 31, 2012. He retired on May 31, 2012. Maes also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce and Mental Health of America Colorado. He is also the recipient of the 2012 Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2012 Pueblo County Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2011 Colorado Hispanic Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2008 George Norlin University of Colorado Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Achievement, the 2006 Colorado Judicial Institute Judicial Excellence Award the2004 University of Southern Colorado Outstanding Alumnus Award for Distinguished Service and the 2004 Colorado CASA Judge of the Year.
