WINNING LOTTERY TICKETS TOTALING $25,000 SOLD IN CHAFFEE COUNTY

DENVER,August 13, 2013 – In FY13Colorado Lottery retailers located in Chaffee County sold 14 winning Lottery tickets worth more than $599! Those winning tickets were collectively worth $26,577!The biggest winner sold in Chaffee County last year was a $5,000 Odds on Favorite Scratch ticket sold at J.R.’s at 1046 E. Rainbow Blvd., in Salida, Colo. 

“In big cities and small towns – people are winning,” said Abel J. Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery. “And they are winning in more ways than one – every time they visit a park, walk on a trail, or paddle a kayak course, they’re enjoying Colorado Lottery dollars at work. All proceeds from the sale of our games go back to the state for parks, recreation, open space and wildlife conservation. In FY13 we returned more than $135.6 million to our proceeds partners statewide.”

Since the inception of the Lottery $13.5 million has been returned to Chaffee County. During the calendar year of 2012, Lottery retailers in Chaffee County collectively produced $516,930 in Lottery proceeds to improve the quality of life within the city and state.

Examples of these Lottery contributions can be seen in the $2.5 million spent to develop the Arkansas River Recreation Area, and the $197,000 that went towards the Holman Athletic Fields in Salida.
