WINNING LOTTERY TICKETS TOTALING $6.9 MILLION SOLD IN ADAMS COUNTY

DENVER, August 13, 2013 – In FY13Colorado Lottery retailers located in Adams County sold 303 winning Lottery tickets worth more than $599! Those winning tickets were collectively worth $6,941,089! The biggest winner sold in Adams County last year was a $3.1 million Lotto ticket sold at Diamond Shamrock at 5600 E. 64th Ave., in Commerce City.

“In big cities and small towns – people are winning,” said Abel J. Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery. “And they are winning in more ways than one – every time they visit a park, walk on a trail, or paddle a kayak course, they’re enjoying Colorado Lottery dollars at work. All proceeds from the sale of our games go back to the state for parks, recreation, open space and wildlife conservation. In FY13 we returned more than $135.6 million to our proceeds partners statewide.”

Since the inception of the Lottery $97.5 million has been returned to Adams County.

During the calendar year of 2012, Lottery retailers in Adams County collectively produced more than $11.3 million in Lottery proceeds to improve the quality of life within the city and state.

This money can be seen in the $200,000 spent in 2007 to develop Brighton Skate Park, and the $28,554 that went towards the Castle Gate Climbing Playground in Brighton.
