LOCAL RETAILERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE CITY OF STERLING

DENVER, June 12, 2013– For the past 30 years, the Lottery has given over $5.2 billion away in prizes to our players. The Colorado Lottery has been an institution in the State of Colorado while proudly providing funds for parks, recreation, open space, conservation, and wildlife projects. Over that time the Lottery has returned more than $13.9 million dollars to Logan County.

None of this would be possible without the contributions of local Lottery retailers. During the calendar year of 2012, retailers that sell Lottery products in the City of Sterling collectively produced more than $547,000 in Lottery proceeds to improve the quality of life within the city and state. The Lottery is forever indebted to these local businesses that not only provide goods and services to the residents of Logan County but for the continued promotion of the Colorado Lottery.

Examples of these Lottery contributions can be seen in the $75,000 spent to develop City of Sterling, Parks and Recreation Master Plan in 2012, and the $115,500 that went towards the Ayres-Campbell Playground Enhancement Project in the City of Sterling in 2010.

Profits from the Colorado Lottery’s games stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.4 billion to the state since it was established. For more information, visit www.coloradolottery.com.
