$1 MILLION POWERBALL TICKET SOLD IN GRAND JUNCTION

DENVER, Oct. 27, 2011– A Powerball ticket worth $1 million in last night’s drawing was sold at Albertsons at 2512 Broadway in Grand Junction. The lucky winner matched 5 numbers to win $200,000 and because they purchased the Power Play option for an additional $1 the ticket is worth a cool $1 million! The winning numbers are 1-18-21-39-55 Powerball 6, Power Play 3. The winner has not claimed their prize yet.

Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at approximately 9 p.m. MDT. The next drawing will take place this Saturday. The estimated jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is $203 million. To play, consumers choose five numbers from 1 to 59 and one Powerball number from 1 to 39. Players that match the five numbers and the Powerball win the jackpot. Players can also opt to spend an extra $1 for a “Power Play” option that will multiply their non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times. If 5 numbers are matched with the Power Play option, the ticket winnings are a cool $1 million regardless of the Power Play number.
