Colorado Lottery’s Mega Millions Game Continues to Grow to Epic Proportions

Denver, CO, January 3rd, 2011 – The Colorado Lottery game Mega Millions continues to grow to, the game’s top prize has now grown to $330 million for this coming Tuesday night, January 4th drawing. This will be by far the largest Mega Millions jackpot since Colorado joined the game in May of 2010. The winning ticket will be worth an estimated $208.3 million in cash.

The last time that the Colorado Lottery saw a $300 million jackpot was on August 25th, 2007 for $314 million. Before that, on February 18th, 2006 it had reached $365 million.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Powerball, Cash 5, Scratch, MatchPlay and Mega Millions stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2.2 billion to the state of Colorado since it was established. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
