WINNING LOTTO TICKET SOLD IN COMMERCE CITY

DENVER – One lucky ticket purchased in Commerce City matched all six numbers in Saturday’s Lotto drawing to win the game’s nearly $5.4 million jackpot. The ticket was sold at 80th Avenue Liquors, 6933 E. 8th Ave. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.

The Lotto jackpot, which hadn’t been hit since August 1st, is worth $2.7 million in cash. The holder of the winning ticket has until April 8, 2010 to claim the jackpot prize. The jackpot winner wasn’t the only one to experience some luck in Saturday’s drawing. Eleven players won $841 by matching five numbers in the drawing and another 809 people won $42 by matching four numbers. The winning numbers were: 2- 6- 15- 21- 33- 39.

Lotto is Colorado’s homegrown  jackpot game, providing a chance to win at least $1 million for $1. The game has created more than 370 millionaires since it was launched in 1989. The probability of winning the Lotto jackpot is 1 in 5,245,786. Overall probability of winning any prize is 1 in 35.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Cash 5, Scratch, and Powerball - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. The Lottery has returned more than $2 billion to the state of Colorado since its creation 26 years ago. Through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks, the Lottery has provided funding for new trails, precious open space and wildlife protection.
