First Lotto Winner of the Year Hits $3.6 Million Jackpot
DENVER – One lucky Lotto winner is ringing in the new year $3.6 million richer. Just one ticket matched all six numbers in the Colorado Lotto drawing held Jan. 5. The winning numbers were: 13, 14, 17, 20, 31 and 33.
Saturday’s jackpot winner has 180 days to claim the top prize. The cash value of the ticket is $1.8 million.
The Jan. 5 Lotto drawing was lucky for many players. Ten of the tickets matched five numbers, earning an $837 prize. Another 696 matched four numbers to win $45.
The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at the King Soopers located at 12959 S. Parker Road in Parker. The store will receive $5,000 for selling the lucky ticket.
Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Lotto, Cash 5, Scratch, and Powerball - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. Since the lottery started in 1983, more than $1.8 billion has been returned to the state through Great Outdoors Colorado, the Conservation Trust Fund and Colorado State Parks.
