Is ‘6’ Your Lucky Number?

DENVER – If not, it could be. Players with a penchant for the number ‘6’ might want to play the Colorado Lottery this week. The Lotto jackpot is up to $6.6 million, and the Powerball jackpot has reached $66 million.

“How often do you see this happen?” said Peggy Gordon, director of the Colorado Lottery. “We know a lot of people play with their lucky numbers each week. If six is one of those numbers, there isn’t a better time than now.”

The $66 million Powerball prize is the highest jackpot nationally as well as worldwide, beating out the New York Lotto and Mega Millions. Those stand at $55 million and $45 million, respectively.

Coincidentally, ‘6’ is the least frequently drawn number in the Colorado Lottery Lotto game. It has been drawn 224 times, compared to the most frequently drawn number, which is ‘34’ at 299 times.

And last but not least, there have been six Lotto winners since July 1, the beginning of the Lottery’s fiscal year.
