“With nearly 7,500 votes, the response was simply amazing,” said Peggy Gordon, director of the Colorado Lottery. “We’re pleased so many people voted because it would have been too difficult for us to pick our favorites from such a lovable group of cats.”
The top vote getters won a year's supply of cat food, valued at $200, and the cats’ families will receive $300 in Scratch tickets.
In December, the Lottery began the Cat Scratch Fever promotion by requesting photos of Colorado cats online. After receiving 2,347 entries, 30 finalists were selected, and the public had until February 19 to vote at www.yourkittyhere.com for their favorites. Each of the 30 finalists will receive $10 in Cat Scratch Fever Scratch tickets when the game is available.
