Pueblo County Resident Wins Top Prize in Lottery's Scratch Game

DENVER - Justin Carrington of Pueblo, Colo., won $40,000 in the Colorado Lottery’s Scratch game $3 Gingerbread Dough during this past week. Loaf ‘N Jug, 120 S. Santa Fe in Pueblo, sold the winning ticket.

In Pueblo County, more than $30 million in Lottery proceeds have helped to improve community areas, open space and recreation facilities such as the Wet Mountains Open Space Coalition Land Protection Project, Minnequa Lake Park and Open Space, Rawlings Outdoor Sports Complex and the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk Urban Discovery Park.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games - Scratch, Lotto, Powerball, and Cash 5 - stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. In fiscal year 2005, more than $103.7 million was returned to Colorado. Since the lottery started in 1983, more than $1.6 billion has been returned to the state.
