$400,000 Powerball Ticket Sold in Denver; One of Four Tickets Nationwide

DENVER – Colorado has one of the four top winning tickets in the country from the Powerball drawing on Saturday, May 6. The lucky ticket, worth $400,000, was sold in Denver.

The winner matched five of the five numbers but not the Powerball. The other three tickets were sold in the District of Columbia, New Hampshire and Oklahoma.

The winning numbers from the drawing on May 6 were 12, 23, 25, 32 and 38. The Powerball was 27. Winners have 180 days to claim their prize, so the last day to claim prizes is November 2, 2006. Since no one hit the jackpot on Saturday, the Powerball jackpot grew to $85 million.

Proceeds from the Colorado Lottery’s games – Scratch, Lotto, Powerball and Cash 5 – stay in Colorado to improve the quality of life in the state. Since the Lottery started in 1983, more than $1.6 billion has been returned to the state through the Lottery’s primary proceeds recipients. These organizations provide grants and direct funding for parks, recreation, open space acquisition, trails, wildlife and conservation education.
