Abel Tapia, Director
In July, 2010, Roxy Huber, former Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue, appointed former Senator Abel Tapia director of the Colorado Lottery.

Director Tapia was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 1999 and to the Colorado Senate in 2003. During his tenure, Senator Tapia was the Senate President Pro Tem and the Chairman of the Joint Budget Committee.

Between 1985 and 2008, Tapia owned Abel Engineering Professionals Inc.(AEP), a full-service civil-engineering company based in Pueblo. AEP was listed as one of the top 200 small businesses in Colorado by ColoradoBiz Magazine.

Director Abel Tapia governs the Colorado Lottery along with five appointed Colorado Lottery Commissioners.
